Storytelling Groups

Storytelling Groups, Guilds, Circles, Gatherings, and Organizations support the art and craft of oral storytelling in their local areas. Some meet informally to swap stories; others have more formal meetings and host formal events. From story listeners to beginners to seasoned storytellers, the groups provide networking and social time. Some are free and others have a membership fee. Contact a group near you for more details.

Story Crafters Gathering

Second Tuesday of the month. Room opens at 6:45 pm, meeting begins promptly at 7:00 pm, concludes promptly at 8:00pm. Each week, two different storytellers bring a story to the group. Each teller gets 30 minutes to share and work their story with the group. This is a facilitated safe space where listeners are there in service to the teller and their story. Send an email to get on the mailing list for the zoom link or to reserve a spot at an upcoming meeting.

Orlando Story Club

Orlando, FL

Bimonthly storytelling series is open to everyone, featuring a different theme for each event. Anyone can throw their name in the hat for a chance to tell a 5-minute story. Ten participants are randomly selected. Stories must be no longer than 5 minutes in length, told without notes, and must connect with the general theme. Shows are held on select Wednesdays at 7 pm at CityArts Gallery in downtown Orlando (39 S Magnolia Ave).
