Sharpen Your Storytelling Skills. Learn How to Deal with Serious Issues. Sign Up for a Pre-Festival Workshop on “Edutainment.”

Susan O’Halloran

Storyteller and motivational expert Sue O’Halloran will conduct a workshop that will help sharpen your storytelling skills on Thursday, Jan. 23, prior to the opening of the Florida Storytelling Festival.

O’Halloran, a writer, story artist, television personality, and keynote speaker, is offering her successful workshop on “Teaching Without Preaching: The Art of Edutainment” from 9:30am – 3:30pm (includes an hour break for lunch) in the Grandview Room of the Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora. (The festival opens that afternoon).

She will demonstrate how she approaches her stories that revolve around topics with deeper themes. From Sue’s examples, you will be able to distinguish between stories that preach in a negative and patronizing way compared to presenting the story as an artistic form that combines education and entertainment. The goal is to develop stories that respect, enlighten, and emotionally move your audience members to take action.

To sign up go to https://flstory.com/festival/pre-intensive-workshop/

You can sign up when you register for the Festival or “a la carte” on the Festival Registration site.
This master class pre-intensive registration is only $100.
