Storytelling Returns to Mt. Dora’s Windsor Tea Room

After a two-year hiatus, storytelling returns to the Windsor Rose Tea Room in Mt. Dora beginning Tuesday, June 14.

Florida Storytelling Association member Cheryl Floyd, of Deland, will share her stories at 1 p.m. that day. Cheryl taps into her Louisiana roots to share personal tales, folktales and stories of transformation with audiences of all ages.

Storytelling will be featured at the Windsor on the second Tuesday of every month with some of Florida’s best tellers, many from the Storytellers of Central Florida guild.

Future dates are July 12th, August 9th, September 13th, October 11th, November 8th and December 13th, so mark your calendars.  A different storyteller will be featured each month.  Details to be announced.

These events are very popular and the Tea Room requires reservations to ensure you have a spot.  You can call them at 352 735 2551.

Quaint and cozy, the Windsor Rose Tea Room has been one of the top restaurants in Mount Dora since it opened in 1991. It is located at 142 West Fourth Avenue in Mount Dora.

The original owners brought a touch of European elegance to Mount Dora and many of the historic adornments decorating the walls of the Windsor Rose came from England.

In addition to pastries, finger sandwiches, cookies, cakes and a wide variety of teas, the Windsor offers breakfast and lunch items.

  1. I am out of town till October but I am sooooooo excited to join you all at the Windsor Rose Tea Room in October. Of course, I moved to Florida just as everything shut down so it will be great to greet old and new friends in Mt. Dora once a month.
